According to the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas(BSP), the new notes of Peso will be released to the public before Christmas. Current bills can still be used for the next 3-4 years so there's no need to panic and people can still exchange their old bills even after that time frame. But I think as soon as the new notes are released, people will just gush over to banks so it'd be good for banks to set a certain limit of amount allowable for exchange. (I remember when the 10 peso coin was released, my grandma exchanged the money right away. Immediately, I collected around 10 of those and flaunted it to my classmates. I was still an elementary student then, you can't blame me for being shallow. HEE. =D )
According also to BSP, the new bills have more security features, making it more difficult for counterfeiters to copy. My mom had been a victim of those fake 1000 peso bills so this is good news.
Based on the website my friend found (I just found this in his Facebook. HAHA), this will be the new look of Philippine Peso. What do you think? I think it look nice although I'm not totally digging the looks of the 20, 50 and 1000 peso bill.
I hope that more than its new look, this would also bring about change in Philippine economy.
8 days to go before Christmas!=)
